check this out too.http://fgiasson.com/blog/index.php?title=bookmarking_discussions_using_del_icio_u&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 i've been using talkdigger lately and its made me think of some weird ways to use it... like this delicious example.sullOn 5/16/06, David Meade <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: I was thinking about this lately too. There was a cool post on digg a while ago that pointed to a tag cloud for google news (http://fserb.com.br/newscloud/ ). The really cool thing was it would find related tags. Clicking on a tag would display a list of stories on that and related tags. It seemed to work really well. I was thinking how great it would be to have a system like that for videoblogs. Some system that would work off a list of feeds from the various directories we have now, and that could find tags and related tags ... and offer a list of videos. Still, it's much easier than having to add tags from scratch each time I post a blog/vlog entry. Try it, and let me know how it works out,Thanks Harold. I use the templates as well. Re: [videoblogging] Tracking the conversations, etc.
Hi Devlon,Thanks for bringing up the use of tags with Blogger. I've been using Blogger for years, but just recently began using Techorati tags, and find myself always bothered by having to compose my tags from scratch each time I post. But this is not necessary! I believe we can simply use Blogger's Post Template feature: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=84I've added the following tag "template" to my Post Template so that it will always be displayed in my post before I type a single word; I'll simply have to change the keywords each time I post in order to make them more accurate. We saw during videoblogging week 2006 how hard it was to keep track of all the videos being posted with the 'videobloggingweek2006' tag...granted we were relying on technorati which kind of left us hanging. Now with the 'ism' conversations recently I find it hard to keep track of the every one's input to that conversation. Tags are great, but (unless I am dense and don't know how to use blogger) blogger doesn't provide an easy interface to add tags to posts. Videobloggers may not be inclined to copy and paste the required html or even know how to use tags properly. Before I started videoblogging I am sure it was easy to keep track of these threads since there were a few people participating...but since the explosion, there's just too many to keep up with 'manually' I guess in my usual round-about way I am asking this: how can we facilitate conversation tracking? Groups, and social networks aren't good for this since they are confined to the hosting site. Do we need to promote tag usage more? Do we need to poke and prod blog hosting services to provide support for tags (ie, make is easier to tag). I think tags are the way to go, but it seems like something is missing. -- ~Devlon http://loadedpun.com | http://mefeedia.com http://8bitme.blogspot.com | http://devlonduthie.com YAHOO!
