Does anyone know if the Joanne Woodward version of The Glass Menagerie
is available for purchase on dvd? Our VHS tape has bitten the dust. So
far, I can only find it on Region 2. I found one web site "Forgotten
Cinema" that is selling a copy for $14.95, but I've never heard of
Apparently, Universal holds the rights to the Paul Newman directed (1987) film
but
never has given it a "proper" DVD release. Just VHS (and i think laserdisc).

I have to do some very extreme weeding of our remaining 16mm films. (Losing
their storage space. Space for VHS & DVDs is not effected, fortunately.)

give some reels a new home?

I have been in this position for just under three years, and recently, I
have started seeing more DVDs give out (skip, hang up, etc.) after fewer
checkouts. Right now I have 2 different videos that have been checked
out 16 and 17 times respectively. Both have issues that make them
