Re: MO
Why don't we all leave this list? Seriously, I really can do without this nonsense. I'm thinking of folding it completely. I guess you are not in the position to do that? It's our list. I don't want to be responsible for creating more space in the cyberworld where we can flex our egotsistic muscles. So, fellow subscribers, do you want this list or not? Speak up... Lists are the real world. The combattants almost never stay away forever. Too curious, I suppose. L. RE: MO
You got the message the wrong way round, Stephan. I didn't kick him off this list - I am not in a position to do that to anyone. And I am personally saddened that he has chosen to go, but I understand his reasons. I actually invited him to take part in this list. He asked if RT was a contributor, and at that time I said I don't think he is. So Matanya made some valuable contributions. Eventually RT did join up, and the inevitable clash came. MO just can't be bothered with the confrontation, and decided to leave. I can see now, from my earlier posting, that it looks like I kicked him off the list. Nothing could be further from the truth, and this list remains unmoderated. Roman, you are welcome to this list. You are doubtless happy that MO has gone, however there are many of us who wish he had stayed. Everyone: let's get along. We are all in this together. While in the past there were quite some flamewars on other lists between MO and others (it takes at least two, BTW), we all are capable of setting up appropriate filters in our software. I have been filtering out some people who contribute nothing than hot air and silly offtopics (which MO does neither, IMO), but I wouldn't welcome it to see them kicked off the list. There always seem to be some who read and answer those postings, and that's ok if I don't have to. RE: MO
No problem! I think I was not very clear in my first post. I was a bit depressed about it all. Re: MO
Dear all, I don´t know how such a situation may have arised, but one fact is perfectly clear to me: in a list devoted to communicate and share, either all of us - even those we disagree with - have a place, or there is no point in pursuing what may become a futile exercice. I have often read Matanya's comments, have been irritated with some, disagreed with others, but I must recognize that he is indeeed knowledgable and has always contributed positively with his knowledge to the list. I feel that a place where such a person cannot find the space to interchange information, opinions or even -on occasion- insults, for whatever reason, is not a place for me either, so regretfully, I shall leave this list as well.
