That sounds fine; I think gpsbabel should not be included.For
packaging systems, it's far better to just make viking depend on
gpsbabel than to have an included copy, especially if there are security
issues in gpsbabel.
I would say that by default on Unix, it makes sense to try
$(PREFIX)/bin/
