I started to use YouCompleteMe recently and I use SnipMate as well.
Since YouCompleteMe uses tab, I set in my vimrc for snipmate:
imap snipMateNextOrTrigger
smap snipMateNextOrTrigger
But it seems to work only after I re-source my vimrc. For example in
