Does anyone have a clue as to why Apple finally released 7.5.3 this way?
It seems very awkward for most people. I'm just happy I was able to get
the update version of 7.5.3 when it was available as 14 disk images, even
though it required that 7.5 already be installed. It has come in very
handy.

Hi Clark,
My question was more on the idea of why Apple's final release for
download was in the form of files that had to be assembled on the
desktop, rather than individual disk images which can easily be
saved to floppies. Obviously, since the latter
7.5.3 was, IIRC, the last floppy version of the OS.
No, that was 7.6.1.

I didnt know there was a version of System 7 higher than 7.5.3.
heck, you even have 7.6.1, which has the reputation of being the most
stable one.
