I was driving @60 mph when the tranny failed. I was able to get off the highway in 2nd gear, I think it was 2nd. Certainly fourh was gone. It sat for four years. When I pulled the engine I drilled it for a full flow oil filter. After installation, I cranked the engine, with coil unplugged, to get the oil light to go out. I tried to start it a few times then decided to go to basics and check valves timing etc. I have not run it after the four year hiatus, but only because it didn't start. Could it have been symptomatic four years ago but I missed it? What are the symptoms of what is virtually a weak spring? Besides some excessive valve train noise.
