That plastic roofing repair compound is readily available and cheap at Lowes
and HD. But the spray-on or roll/on bed liner would look more uniform.

The later nuts were riv-nuts that were crimped into place. You could spot weld
plain or flanged M8 nuts or locate the weld-in style, maybe WW?
