Did you have headphones plugged in? Even if you don't, sometimes have to try several times. If you do have them in, you have to make the device hear the sound. If your earphones have a mike try putting one earphone against it. If anyone has better ideas I'd like to know myself. HTH, Haya Simkin

I read on an Apple support site that activating iMessage on an iPhone can take up to 24 hours if using an Apple Id. Why just for iPhone I don't know; probably Apple expects you to use your phone number for iMessage hence it being set up that way automatically when setting up an iPhone. Regard
