I'm not sure I'd say Google fails miserably when compared to Apple's accessibility. I picked up a Nexus 7 recently. I'm still getting used to it, and it definitely behaves differently than an iPhone, but when comparing the two, I wouldn't say the Nexus 7 fails miserably compared to the iPhone.
