This seems to be a bug in iOS 7.0 release.

 

Even i am facing this issue in my iphone 4s. Event in recenet release 
7.0.0.6 this issue is still occuring.

I have not found any fix for it but found work around to fix the problem at.

Even still you are facing the problem please try to do a hard reset.Press 
and hold the Sleep/Wake (Power) Button and the Home Button at the same time 
for at least 10 seconds.

If that doesn't make you screen come back on, you can try restoring your 
iPhone.http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
