I feel a swipe is a more extravagent gesture than a mere flick; so long as
it works. some tasks do seem to require a bigger gesture.

The distinction when used, is usually about 1finger flicks, and multiple
finger swipes.

Now that's interesting. In the manual, the word used is flick. I hadn't waited
on that picker for quite a while, so never noticed the inconsistency with the
manual. Given that the gesture is a vertical flick, and that is what is stated
in the manual, I suspect that the hint was written by a diff

because it is telling VO to pass the command gesture directly to iOS rather
than interpreting the gesture.
In my reading of other chapters, I do not recall reading any swipe in the

Hi David. Good point. I'm wondering though, do you know what the
official terminology should be used when you do a bypass swipe gesture,
like when you delete something? We always say, double-tap and hold, wait
for the tri-tone, and then swipe to the right. A sighted person not
