Hello Joanne and others,

Below is the reply I received from Apple regarding the expiration of iTunes
gift cards. My assumption was confirmed, promotional gift cards (those you
sometimes can buy at a discount) have an expiry date after which they cannot be
redeemed any longer. However, once redeemed which means once the balance of the
card has been applied to your iTunes account, that balance stays there until it
is used up even if you don't do anything with it for 10 years. In short, if you
are given a promotional gift card or buy one, don't let it sit around where it
might get lost or expire. Just redeem it and put the amount on you raccount,
it's like money in the bank and it's there for you to use it whenever you want.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hi Sieghard,

Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Erick and
it's my pleasure to assist you with regard to your concern for today.

I understand that you would like to know if redeemed gift cards on your account
will expired or only the card that has not been redeemed. I do recognize the
urgency and importance of getting this resolved and I will be happy to look
into this for you right away.

Sieghard, in an effort to assist you I have reached out to an iTunes Store
Senior Advisor who has informed me that once the gift cards have been redeemed
on your account, they will stay there until they have been completely used.
They will not expire even you didn't use them for years.

However, on the other part, gift cards that haven't been redeemed yet on any
account are the ones who will expired.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you have any questions or concerns
about anything I have covered in here, please reply directly to this message.
I'd love to find out how this works out for you and I look forward to hearing
back from you. Thank you for being an Apple customer, and have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Erick
