Hi,
I have only experienced a problem with one complication when AutoSpeak is
enabled and that is with Weather Gods.
The only way I got it to work was to

Make sure autospeak is turned on for all the items you want to speak.

I updated my AppleWatch Series 3 yesterday to the latest OS. Since, a single
tap on the screen only results in the time being spoken, but not any of the
AutoSpeak Enabled items in the Modular face complications selected. They all
worked prior to this update.
I have powered off and back on
