Hi Neil,

Check the archives for the Netatmo Weather Station. You can also go to
www.netatmo.com and read more about it.

I originally was the one who introduced several others on the list to this
weather station and did a bunch of beta testing for the company because in
the beginning the app was not very accessible. It is now fully accessible
including the setup/connection of the weather station to your WiFi.

The weather station costs $180 and this includes one indoor module which is
the main module and 1 outdoor module which is prepaired with the indoor
module and connects automatically. You can get additional indoor modules (up
to 3) for $80. Too bad you didn't ask a few weeks ago, Netatmo did a Black
Friday 15% off promotion both last year and this year.

The weather station currently gives you indoor and outdoor temperature,
minimum and maximum temperature, humidity and pressure. It also gives you
readings for indoor noise level and CO2 level.

There are non-accissible graphs if you turn your phone into landscape mode,
but the portrait screen is simple and can be easily reviewed. If you have
multiple indoor modules, you have buttons across the bottom and you can name
them whatever you want.

I belive one of the next steps for Netatmo is to add rain and wind sensors,
not sure if this will be a combination unit or if they come out with
separate sensors for this.

Both indoor and outdoor modules are very nicely made aluminum tubes, about 2
inches in diameter and the indoor module is about 6 inches long and the
outdoor module is about 4 inches long. The indoor module has 4 Double A
batteries for backup power, but should be plugged into an outlet, it has a
Micro USB connector so you can use any USB adapter and cable. The outdoor
module uses 4 Triple A batteries.
There is no display on the unit itself, you can access it via the app or via
the web interface from anywhere in the world as long as you have a data
connection.
The weather station I think takes a reading every 20 minutes, but you can
also force a refresh by touching the end of the indoor module.
I have had it for a year now and it performs flawlessly.

Regards,
Sieghard

I would also like to know if there is a wireless out door temperature probe
that works with an accessible app. I have a weather station from Oregon
Scientific that is interfaced to a central station that it is not accessible
to set up, but once you have this done, it works. So, if there is an app
that is possible to read even if the setup is not accessible, it would be
nice to know about it. I'll do some research and see what I can find rather
than just asking questions here.

I will bite my tongue on the ignorance statement made by the previous
writer, although it was extremely hard to do.

Neal

That was really ignorant!
