Check the thread, Rick posted a message and said he directly knew one or two
people who had already bought it and found that the app had some accessibility
issues and was definitely not as good as the old smart cooker app. I'm sure
the Instant Pot itself is just fine, but it looks like
As far as I know it is accessible. The app is a little bit of a pain
but it's new so I am sure those issues will be sorted.

I am interested in the answer to this, too; if it’s not accessible, I will take
it off my Christmas list.

Hi Sieghard and others. I personally kknow 2 people that have already
recieved the Instant Pot WiFi model and here is what they are telling me.
1. It uses a different app like others have already mentioned. It uses
an app called Instant Pot and not the Smart Cooker that some of us use

Hey Sieghard,
Do you know what an engineer would say about the glass being half full or half
empty. He would say the glass is too big. LOL

The instant pot is an electric pressure cooker. But it could also do other
things, such as making yogurt or do slow cooking, or substitute as your rice
cooker although I haven’t had much luck with that last one. Others have.

Can someone please explain to me what an Insta pot is. How does that work? Is
that like a crockpot? What kind of things does it cook?

Hi Mary,
Sorry, but I didn't mean to come down hard on you, I was just pointing out that
you do tend to focus on negative aspects of a product and I don't think I'm the
only person who has noticed that.
The reviews I saw were old and could not possible refer to how this app works
together with
What is the name of the app that you are looking at? I have the smart
cooker app. and the instant pot app. I usually use the smart cooker app to
cook with. Which one had the update last week? In the app called instant
pot I have seen no way to cook with the instant pot except using recipes.
The folks who were complaining, and there weren’t a lot of reviews which is
understandable, were mostly on about the fact that when you try to scroll
through the list of recipes, they opened instead of letting you scroll. That
might not affect us as voiceover users. Also, people were
Hi Mary,
Just reading about things always brings with it the danger that you may happen
to read something written by somebody who doesn't know what they are talking
about.
The old app a worse rating than the new one if you compare 1.6 to 2.1 Stars.
Anyhow, I don't yet have the new Instant Pot
Yes, the Wi-Fi model is available on Amazon for $146. It is a 6 quart model.
According to what I have read, it sounds like it has buttons on the front like
the other instant pots did before the one that turned out not to be very
accessible. And there is an app. And that app enables you to do
Have I missed something? Is the pot with WiFi now availa in the U.S.? If it is,
I want one! Susie

Well, seek hard, for what it’s worth, I still like the home button and touch ID
better than face ID. And I don’t know why you have to come off so hard. After
all, I was only reporting what I read on the App Store, not offering my
personal opinion, since I do not have this new instant pot nor
For this new part, they have a new app. I also have a smart cooker app, and as
you noted, it’s quite accessible. I never fooled with the programmed in
recipes. But this new one is supposed to have 750 recipes programmed in already
to the app. So that could be kind of a big deal, and it is not
The smart cooker app is the one I use for my bluetooth model. It's completely
accessible. I don't know what else it's supposed to do or if folks simply don't
like the way it looks. It gives you access to what you need. We've got the
bluetooth model and another 8 quart one that my wife uses. If
Hi again,
Jim, here is what I found on the app store:

It's interesting because when I look at this on the computer the app gets only
2.1 out of 5 Stars although some of the very negative reviews are negative
because the reviewer
I am sure we could contact them about making the app a bit more
accessible if it has issues.

The app has bad reviews. I don’t have that particular model of pot, since I
have the older Bluetooth one. But everybody is complaining about the app, the
bad layout and how recipes open instead of letting you scroll. Hopefully the
main part of the app, the dashboard where you can monitor stuff,

Hi
Thanks a lot Sieghard,
Although I own the last one right before it stopped selling it, I have many
students who keep asking for this if its available again.

Hi Len, Don and others,
I just noticed that the new Instant Pot Smart WiFi was now in stock and
available to ship on the Amazon Canada website and when I went to Amazon.com it
seems that it is now also listed and available to ship.
In Canada it is $199.99 Canadian and in the US $145.35 US,
