My experience is different.
As long as you don't run but walk not too fast while the rumble of thunder
lasts you can take quite a few steps withou being spotted. Up to 8 or more at
times.
I got the bonus for this level of taking all steps under cover of thunder so it
realy works.

Yes, I think so. Once you start getting into noisy crunchy situations
everywhere, you just have to run for it; no fancy stuff required. :)
