This is a respectful request for assistance. The request is for others on this list to provide feedback to Apple to improve the double-tap timeout feature. I have a friend who needs to use VoiceOver and who has limited dexterity. He cannot double-tap rapidly enough for the double-tap control in VoiceOver to work. the double-tap timeout feature can be adjusted, but the timeout pause cannot be extended beyond 0.50 seconds. My friend and those who are assisting him believe he could use the double-tap feature if the timeout could be extended to 1 second or beyond. Yesterday I called Apple Disability Support and made this feature request. Anyone interested in doing this could call or you could use the following links. This software change might be very helpful for those who need to work with an iPhone or iPad who cannot double-tap rapidly. I’m sure there are many who would benefit from an extended timeout pause.
