If, like me, you believe that online dating services should be equally accessible to the blind and low vision, even if you yourself are not currently seeking someone special, please help raise VoiceOver accessibility awareness by sending an Email to the developers of the Match.com Mobile iOS app requesting VoiceOver accessibility.. Until the most recent two releases of the iOS Match.com Mobile app, both posted to the Apple App Store earlier this week, the Match.com Mobile app was marvelously VoiceOver (Apple's software screen reading solution for the blind and low vision) accessible. In fact, I would have argued that the mobile app was easier to use than the website given its VoiceOver accessibility compliance. However, sadly, the two most recent versions of your mobile app are no longer conveniently accessible to the blind and low vision via VoiceOver. For example, on-screen controls are no longer properly identified and labeled so that they can be accessed and read, out loud, by VoiceOver, to the visually impaired. I will be happy to assist you, as a beta tester, in restoring and maintaining the Match.com Mobile app's VoiceOver accessibility standard of excellence in providing online dating opportunities for the blind and low vision.
