I figured this out. I was originally going into the contacts icon instead of
going to phone and then to contacts and that is where I found block contact but
you do not double tap on edit because that doesn't work.I

the way I do it is, go into phone and then contacts, and on the name of the
person you cant, double tap and go into the contact, and in there down at the
bottom of the screen is a block button, you tap into it and block them
block them go back in to their name and hit unblock.

Is there a way to temporarily block a contact? I know how to block
unwanted calls but I can't seem to make it work on a contact.

screen, the block contact will be there. You can also do a 4-finger double tap
