I find that happens if I run the command together. I have found that if I say
call, then pause for a second or two before telling it who to call, things work
much better

The way you phrase it is important. Use the phrase, 'increase screen
brightness'. Even with Alexa, the phrase for what you want it to do
needs to be quite exact.
