Hello Mark, I am not sure why Face Id on your iPhone 11 seemed unreliable, I have an iPhone 11 and it works almost flawlessly and for me at least it works better than Touch Id ever did and Touch Id for me also worked very well, but Face Id especially now that masks are not typically required
