Bill, This, along with other reasons, are why I am oh so not going to update my beloved 8 Plus to iOS 16.anything. (smile)

I thought I’d use the iPhone 8 to delete several obsolete contacts and found that going into edit mode for the selected contact, locating the “Delete Contact” button and attempting to activate it seems to place the focus into a “Delete App” dialog. Luckily, I realized what had happened before selecting the confirmation button. I tried several times to delete one of the contacts (presuming some sort of “pilot error”) to no avail.
