What is the difference between default account and Icloud?
Somehow my phone picked up a bunch of contacts that I don't care about, I

In case you are an Android user the contacts by default get saved to the
google account set up on your device and in case you are using an iphone
then the same will be uploaded to your icloud account.
So changing the phone provider will not remove the contacts backed up over
these.
