Yes, I think all three mics, IQ 5, 6 and 7 have the same basic design with
that spacer there.
But even with it off, the post is not that long and many cases even
relatively thin ones are too thick.

That is what the earphone jack on the mic is for as far as I can tell.
Otherwise, you would hear VoiceOver.
It could be that it would also play the recording if you had an app that
allowed for monit
