Hello Harry. I'm experiencing the same behavior. I've never used direct touch
typing. How should it work?

Are we talking about touch typing here or direct touch typing? The
original question was about direct touch typing, which isn't the same
thing as touch typing.

I can use direct touch typing without any problems
I still see the bug with direct touch not working well or at All in
notifications replies.
On email at least it works ok.

I have turned my iPhone off twice and still if I select direct touch typing in
settings, I get standard typing but if I select touch typing I get mostly
direct touch typing...
