What about using a braille display? You can then turn the speech off.

I am using my braille display for navigating on the phone rather than the touch
screen. Most of the time I turn the speech off. I do not know the app, but if
it is a low cost app, I could maybe look at it, and give you some hints.

Well, i think it's still on sale, so you can always look for Djay 2 on the app

VoiceOver would stay in your earphones and only the music would go out to the
