this works for me here. If I do a 2 finger swipe down the book reads with VoiceOver. I have also used Play Books on Android. You have to make sure the book is not in scan page mode. In other words, it needs to be in flowing text mode. If I have the book mode I get a message and tell me scan

Mary, I just downloaded the Google Play Books app onto my fifth gen iPod Touch. My first thought is that I prefer the app for Kindle books. I did download a free book into the Google app and played with it a bit. once the book was opened, a two finger flick down started continuous reading,
