So I googled this issue and found a website that suggested redownloading the 
audible books. So I deleted my downloaded books from the app and then 
redownloaded them.  This seems to have resolved the problem.  I was able to 
listen to three different books while off line.   I'm just glad that I didn't 
have to uninstall the app and then reinstall it.
