Hello, I just wanted to let the list know that my rintone issue is now solved. I found the solution on an Apple support forum page. I will paste the fix in this message. I am glad that this fixed the problem because I was driving my wife crazy.
1. Set your default ringtone in Settings - (the ringtone you want as your default). 2. Kill ALL running apps by double clicking the Home button and turning them off one by one. 3. Do a reset of the phone (by holding the Home and Top buttons down until you see the Apple, then release) Your default ringtone should now work.
