Original Message From: Richard Turner This is likely the same in iOS 17.2... but has anyone else been bothered by the fact that the rotor, especially in the mail app, instead of defaulting to Actions, it defaults to headings? I find each time I open the mail app, and land on a message or thread, I have to change the rotor to actions in order to flick up to delete the message or thread.
Richard, USA From: Sieghard Weitzel Hmm, good point, I had not yet noticed this, but you are correct, in iOS 17.3 Beta (not sure if this was already like that in iOS 17.2, you now have the following options when you go to Settings > Accessibility > Voiceover > Rotor: First of course the Back button at the top left and then the heading “Rotor”. If you swipe right you then have “Rotor Items, button” and when you double tap on this you have the familiar list of things you can select, deselect and reorder. If you swipe right again, you now have this new item called “”Change rotor with item, switch button” and of course it can be “On” r “Off”. Swipe right again and you hear the following description: Changes the selected rotor based on the Voiceover focused item. For me this was On, so maybe check if it is on or not and if it is not, turn it on and see if it gives you the more familiar experience. And just to be complete, if you swipe right again, you get “Edit apps on home screen, switch button, on”, again it was on for me. Swipe right one final time and you get “Direct Touch Apps, button” and after that the explanation: Direct Touch allows Voiceover to control an app directly without requiring more interactions. I have to yet try this, but if I double tap on the button it then says: “Direct Touch apps, heading”, after this “Apply To, heading” and then it goes into a list of all apps and items on my iPhone and by default they all say “Selected” for me. Then if I swipe right I s Sieghard -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
