I do believe this would be a feature request. I was hoping it would mute all
sounds, so my suggestion I intend to send to APple is that perhaps this be an
option, (e.g. button that cycles through speech off with sounds or speech off
without sounds). I think this would make all camps happy.

Unfortunatley, we're stuck with that one until Apple fixes it. It's

I use an Ipod and I just turn the volume down all the way when I turn speech
off. Sometimes I might want to use the sounds, so yes, I think the option to
toggle it on and off is a good one.
