Hello Everyone and thank you all for your contributions to this thread. I Downloaded both SoundHound and Shazam and, so far, have found Shazam a bit more responsive and accurate. What took me one try with Shazam took 4 tries with SoundHound in order to get the correct information.
Just so you know, what I did to acquire the information I needed was to first initiate the listening feature of the app, then, hold the phone in front of the speaker of my television and play the section of the video I was watching. While SoundHound is more comfortably accessible with VoiceOver, as is the case with many apps, Shazam, while usable with VoiceOver, does need some work in terms of labeling buttons and limiting screen-bleed-through. As others have mentioned, Sound Hound is very good for what you want as is MusicID with Lyrics By Gravity Mobile.
