I have been talking to apple about this for a while. I have the problem with
voiceover but not the battery.

something else a bit strange. I used Siri to send a text on my IPhone 7
running 10.1.1 just a while ago. When I came back to the phone a half hour or
so later, my phone was not locked and my battery drained
