If you do a single finger double tap on the screen when it is asleep you will
activate the taptic time option. This will give you the entire time. If you
simply want to know the minutes, triple tap with one finger whilst the Apple

I haven't tried it yet, my watch is charging. :-) However, I have been told,
you can turn voiceover off on your Watch, and the tapping still occurs on the
wrist. A friend of mine says he does this all the time. You might give it a
shot. That way you don't have to mess with the volume

You can turn the volume of VoiceOver all the way down and still use the taptic
time. To adjust the volume, wake the screen, and then double-tap and hold with
two fingers. Slide the fingers toward you to decrease the volume or away to
increase it.
