Hi,

I received my iPhone 6 Plus this past Friday November 7 in the mail from
Verizon Wireless. After connecting my iPhone 6 Plus to iTunes, iTunes
reported that my phone could not be restored from a backup because my iPhone
6 Plus software was older than my backup. So, I proceeded to update my
phone to IOS 8.1. I still had problems, I could not make an out bound call.
So, off to the Apple store. I had both phones with me, the 5 and the 6
Plus. The apple technician immediately saw that my carrier was not showing
up at the top left. Since technicians are allowed 10 minutes with
customers, he merely swapped the sim card from my iPhone 5 and put it into
the 6 Plus. Well, that wasn't really a fix, but it was a short resolution
for the technician.

So, I came home and reconnected my iPhone 6 Plus to iTunes and attempted a
restoration. After putting in my Apple ID in several times, a friend
suggested that I try other passwords. So, I tried my iCloud Chain password,
and Walla. I share this just in case others might encounter such a horendus
experience. All the best.

E V
