I would ask Apple directly. My guess is, and it is only a guess, you would need some kind of attenuated cable unless you were connecting to an audio out jack as opposed to an earphone jack. But, I would never try that without asking Apple. Richard “The secret is not to make your music

Hello list I use an external stereo mic with my iPhone which prooves that the lightning port is also an input port. Now I am curious to know if one would be able to use that short connector cable which comes with the iPhone 7 to record from an external source. I am very tempted to test this but
