The only thing I can think of is could you possibly be changing it
inadvertently with the volume buttons? There is an option in settings,
sounds, ringers and alerts that says something like change with
buttons. Make sure this option is turned off.

I've noticed that the ringer volume can change for no reason I can fathom.
One time it'll be 70%, then it can go to 0%. Any ideas?
