iPhone Backup Extractor is another tool that will let you do this. It works by extracting files from iTunes backups, so since recordings are backed up to iTunes, you can easily extract them from any backup that has the recording you want. I own the full version but I believe the free version will

Yes absolutely, it doesn't use your phone at all. It uses the backups that iTunes makes. You can actually take files from your backup without any additional software, as long as they're not encrypted - backups are stored in the folder with the rest of your user data. For example in Windows 7 it
