i had posted a note when 4.70 came out that it seems to be only newly
downloaded books that start from the beginning rather than from the notice. So,
if you are talking about books already in your library, then that is not a
problem. If you are talking about a book you just downloaded, then
Hi all. My voice dream reader books from Bookshare don't read from the
beginning of the book. It still starts at Notice. I'm using an I phone 7
plus and 12.1.1. Any settings I need to change? I restarted my phone. I'm
afraid to reinstall because I may lose my library. Thanks.

Try going into reading settings in Voice Dream, then reading mode. The first
section you have a choice to stop at the end of each sentence.
Try that with a recipe.

It is not as easy to read with VoiceOver in Voice Dream Reader.
It is designed so it is your player. You can use VoiceOver voices, but then you
are stuck with reading by sentence.
There is a setting to stop at the end of each sentence. I will check where that
is exactly and write again.
Hello,
I have a huge collection of cook books in my read2go app. When I read a
recipe, I read with voice over, so I can read the recipe line by line. I want
to move my books to voice dream reader. Is there a way to read the text of a
book using voice over instead of playing the book using

Hello,
Settings, Privacy, and look around, if the app uses your location. If it does,
turn it off. If no change, switch it off in spot light search, under settings

OK. I don't have dice world, so I can't compare that. I wonder what is causing

Hi Anna. thanks for answering my vdr question. I changed it to 1.5 and I can
still see alerts and view them yet still be able to go from page to page as the

I figured those were blank lines in the text. It often happens between chapters

You could write Winston and see if there would be an option to suppress blank
lines.
I kind of doubt it but who knows.

Is there also a way to get rid of these crazy linebreaks? I poked
around in settings for VDR, but don't see anything obvious. Basically,
when reading a BKS book, there are points in the text where the
braille display shows nothing. I have to pan forward several times
before anything will appear.
Hi Rebecca,
There's no way to make the percentage go away completely, but you can make it
appear so briefly you barely notice it. To do this, open Braille settings, and
set Alert Display Duration to .5 seconds.

Anna

Hi akl. When using a braille display in voice dream reader, is there a way to
not see the percentage I've read of a book at the bottom of every page I read?
Otherwise I can scroll just fine. It might show something like 4.6 percent or
something like that as an example.

Hi, Denise.
Thanks for the explanation and I'm sorry I didn't get what you were saying.
First, you can use the iOS voices with VoiceDream as reading voices. That, as I
said, is available in the voice store part of the app. For what you're trying
to do, though, I generally use pages, though this
Hi,
Well that is because I was in a bit of a hurry. So I didn't really explain
things as thoroughly as I could have. I heard that Braille doesn't show up in
pages under iOS 7. I don't know if this is still true for 7.02.

Hi.
No, you should just need to hit play. Are you having any specific
difficulties? Is it stopping, for example, or is it crashing?

No, but I want to use Samantha the iOS voice and not the voice on the program
itself. I want to read MBraille but I also want to use that voice and want to
make sure I read all the text. I have had a little problem with that.

Hi.
If you're using iOS 7, you can use Samantha by selecting it in the
voice store. If you're using 6.x, you'll probably want to use
VoiceOver itself, in which case you may want to try iBooks since, to
my knowledge, the only thing VoiceDream offers to people who want to
use VoiceOver is better
Hi Aman,
Thanks for trying to help me address my issue. I had heard that you could use
the ios voices, namely Samantha in my case to read files. And you could thus
use your Braille display along with it. So, here's what I was trying to do. I
had a bunch of word files in Voice Dream, and I was
