Phillo or Sling TV

2021-06-13 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
Hi All:

I'm thinking of switching from ATT TV streaming which is usable on Apple TV
over iphone. to either Phillo or Sling.

ATT went up on price and Phillo and Sling are cheaper. I'd use on my Apple
TV, phone, or my future Roku. So which do you guys like better? Which is
more usable?

I like Apple Music's losless audio. About time. Also looking forward to
test icloud vpn.. Testing different vpn solotions. Using Guardian Firewall
+ vpn at the moment. Looks promising. Could be good to have icloud vpn when
using safari maybe. Safari is pretty good to use when loging into sites
using two fa two factor atentication. Authy app's six digits. Fast. Really
enjoying Ry Cooder album from2018 in losless audio.

Take care

Tiles?

I bought tiles. Not the iPhone ones, but the tiles that have been
around for a while. Can anyone give me a quick course in how to use
the things, and what if any iPhone settings I need to change?

Thx,

RE: A problem with dictation in apps

2021-06-13 Thread Richard Turner
I've never used either of those apps; so it could be something with the update
and those apps.
Try it somewhere like Notes, or Email and see if it behaves the same way.
If it does, then I'd contact Apple Accessibility.

RE: A problem with dictation in apps

2021-06-13 Thread Richard Turner
How exactly are you starting dictation?

And, in which apps?

Exact steps will help duplicate the issue or find a solution.

Thanks,

OK, it makes me feel better to have found you and another individual
who are seeing the same issue. Are we aware of a means to send this
problem up to Apple? I'm sure someone by now should have noticed the
issue, but I don't know if there's a way to log the problem. Thanks
for responding.--Joe

Re: iOS Update Affecting Apple Smart Battery Case

2021-06-13 Thread Julian
Hi Joe,

I've been experiencing similar behavior as well with my iPhone SE 2020 and
smart battery case. It seems to be intermittent, meaning that sometimes that
happens some days it doesn't. I have not yet found any one thing that I can do
to either trigger or fix it. Hopefully Apple addresses this soon. After all,
that's the whole point of using their smart battery case over aftermarket
products.

iOS Update Affecting Apple Smart Battery Case

2021-06-13 Thread Joe Orozco
Hi, ever since I updated to iOS 14.6, my phone seems to have trouble
syncing up with the Apple battery case. Whereas before the battery
would read 100% until the case itself was drained, it will now give a
percentage, say it’s charging, but in truth, it is draining my phone
battery. I thought it might be giving me a more accurate readout of
the state of the case, given it’s saying it’s charging, but no, when
it drops to 20%, I am alerted to the low battery. I removed the case,
reattached it, and at least yesterday, it seemed to work again, but
this morning it is back to doing the same thing. I have no reason to
believe the issue is with the case itself. When plugged in separate
from the phone, I still see the LED lights indicating juice power. Has
anyone else seen this? Any ideas?

Joe

Re: Serious Problem With Voice Dream Reader

2021-06-13 Thread Donna Casteen
Richard,

Here is the link to the Radish app in case you want to check out how screen
recognition can help to make an app accessible to use. The app is Free. I can't
recall, you may have to create an account. Remember SR does not make the app
100% accessible with a smooth use of the app. SR does make the app accessible
enough to be able to use the app for reading the stories & buying in-app
purchases, which I refuse to do.

RE: Major problem with latest iOS

2021-06-13 Thread davycuppens
I really blame Apple for that feature which is really still at the beginners
stage and has never been developed and looked after seriously. I hope in the
next update Apple stops or hides this feature there are too few cases in which
the feature comes in handy and in most cases ik causes many many problems.

Onderwerp: Major problem with latest iOS

Attention everyone, the latest iOS update has caused major problems. I
currently cannot use Microsoft outlook nor can I use Aira. When I try to open
these apps the only thing you get is a blank screen. I think one of the reasons
for this is because we turned screen recognition on while I was in the app the
other day. We did a reset on the phone and did a back up through iTunes, called
Apple and they did a screen share and video and send a ticket to the
tech-support. They ask that anyone that is having problems with any app not
opening to please contact them and let them know about it so they can try to
find the problem. My wife is also having difficulty with an app she downloaded
yesterday it was working she turned screen recognition on to try to figure out
something in the app and it will not load anymore. So the best advice I could
give you is do not turn screen recognition on if you do you may not be able to
use the app that you turned it on with because you definitely can’t turn it off
once this happens. Again anyone having these problems need to let Apple know.

Richard,

The apps that I use that screen recognition makes the app accessible are
UCHealth. This app is mostly accessible. SR is needed to get drop down menus to
open, put focus on text fields for entering in dates. Getting out., this app is
mostly accessible. SR is needed to open drop down menus, access text fields for
entering dates, credit card info & the I agree check box. Go visits, SR is
needed to enter dates & drop down menus, so that the entire list of menu items
are visible & can be selected. Radish, this app is the least accessible of the
4 apps. Without SR most of the elements of the app are not visible & can not be
activated by tapping. With the use of SR the tab bar along the bottom is
visible, the Back arrows are visible, other tabs within the app can be
activated by tapping. SR has to be toggled On/Off a lot during use of the app.
A good understanding & how to use SR is most definitely necessary. A new iPhone
user may have trouble using the app.

I have 4 apps in which screen recognition helps with making certain parts of
each app accessible. Without screen recognition these apps would be
unaccessible to voiceover users. The problem with screen recognitions usability
within an app isn't consistent. With the inconsistent behavior within any one
app, this confuses most voiceover users. The biggest problem & it is
inconsistent- When an app is updated, screen recognition gets turned on during
the update. & when an app is first downloaded screen recognition is on by
default. This is also inconsistent. I have yet figured out why some apps, when
being updated or downloaded for the first time, screen recognition gets turned
on, while other apps screen recognition has to be turned on by the rotor or
selecting the app in voice recognition in accessibility voiceover settings.
Unfortunately, I have no second device in which to use to beta test screen
recognition, so that the feature is usable for all voiceover users. Screen
recognition is a great feature when it works as intended.

Donna

I just tested this, I have screen recognition turned on in Voiceover Settings,
but all apps were deselected. I tried this now by selecting Aira and 3 random
other apps and I can confirm that none of these apps worked after I selected
them for screen recognition.
They would open and were in the app switcher, but the only part of the screen
Voiceover would read was the status bar at the top, anywhere else on the screen
it would just ding.
I then turned/deselected these apps again and still Voiceover would not read
anything even removing the apps from the app switcher and trying again was the
same, only after closing all apps and turning my iphone off and back on
restored the prior behaviour where Aira and the other apps would again work as
before. I should also mention that with these apps selected for Screen
Recognition in Settings, the Screen Recognition rotor item was not present, now
after deselecting thema nd rebooting the iPhone, screen recognition is once
again available in the rotor and turning it on from inside the app does not
make the app unusable, it will just make it less useable in some cases as I
described yesterday using Facebook and the App Store as examples.

Thank you. Yes, this is very helpful. I will be waiting until Prime Days next

particularly useful. Have a good day.
