Hi Marianne, the screen reader sets the commands for any Braille display, irrespective of the operating system. If a Braille display also has note taker or special functions, those are in the displays firmware, otherwise, any command set comes from the screen reader and not the display.

I am having difficullty with mine too. It is as if the settings are not being saved when you leave the settings menue. I have never looked at KNFB reader under IOS settings to see what controls exist there, if any. I am sure they will fix it eventually or, if it is an IOS issue, apple will.

I doubt they charge you for the data connection you basically provide them to rebroadcast. As far as I understood it, they are like mini cell towers that connect back to the carrier's network over the public internet through whatever router you plug it into. I wonder if it would be legal to use
