There are many good connected thermostats available these days, I am sure Nest thermostats are good, but they do seem to be pricy and I have a Honeywell Lyric T5 (I think there is probably a newer model now) which also works very well and has an accessible app and it only costs less than half

Hi Mark, You were simply experiencing the sound of a wet muffled speaker. I have the Apple Watch Series 3 and this occurs frequently as I wet my watch. This is with water lock enabled as well. It’s just one of those things where you have to wait until it dries and then back to normal.
