The shift key is indeed located on your keyboard to the left of the letter
Z and below the letter a. It does not visually say shift. Visually, it is
an arrow pointing upward. Ask him if he can locate the arrow in that
location.

I could open the file manager but the filenames did not show but then I
discovered a setting in advanced settings which I had to switch on and now the
filenames do show.
