Thanks everyone! I so appreciate all the helpful info.
I ended up calling AIRA and getting them to help me get signed up on
the public alerts website.
There was also a spot to register as a blind person. I have resisted
that in the passed but went a head and did it tonight.
It sounds like my questi

I have iPhone8 and the latest iOS version.
I used iPhone-Dictionary for the first-time just by chance.
I was totally taken aback when Voiceover gave me the dictionaries of all the
languages on my Rotor.
I, however, was disappointed when Voiceover did not display the definitions

I think you can call your local non-emergency police or fire station to
get info about help evacuating if that becomes necessary, or call the

Try calling 211, that is a statewide information number so they may have up to
date info.
Also, I'd call the Red Cross and ask them about accessible information for
shelters.

stations that track that, it will give you a number and say if it is good,
moderate, unhealthy, or hazardous. Right now in Portland, it is 367, which is
quite hazardous.
In short, keep windows and doors closed and stay indo

Hi,
Do you have government alerts turned on so that you can get alerts about
natural disasters or other severe weather events including wild fires?
On my phone, whenever there are weather alerts or government issued alerts, my
phone notifies me. That happened when COVID-19 hit our state very hard
I'm in Portland Oregon and as I'm sure you've hear on the news we are
having crazy wild fires.
I am having trouble finding a good way to get up to the minute info.
Most of the resources have maps and as we all know those are not accessible.
Also, a radio station here said on their website they h
