Call waiting sound interrupts call iPhone iOS 13.7

2020-09-30 Thread Shai
Hello all,
On my iPhone8+ running iOS 13.7 when a call comes in the beep of the
call is distracting enough to interrupt the call I am on arriving in
louder than the caller who I am speaking to. This is when the phone is
to my ear.
Other than turning down the volume on my phone, is there a means by
which I can resolve this issue? I have had issues with the phone
carrier where the volume of a call is too low. I contacted them and in
that case they alerted me that a tower problem existed and that they
had been working to turn the volume back up. Now, the volume of the
caller is just right but call waiting beep is too loud when it comes
in. They have said that this can not be turned down and the rep
recommended that I turn off call waiting in phone settings to resolve
this issue or update to iOS 14.
Thank you in advance for any responses.

RE: In the native mail app, where do I edit the iMap ports for an account?

2020-09-30 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Kevin,

In your mail account settings,
You should be asked for the outgoing smtp (sending) address,
You should find this able to be clicked / tapped on,
Single finger double tap.

Under that you should have different settings relating to SMTP Port numbers or
ssl / TLS related settings,

Hope this helps and you I would think need to have a username and password for
outgoing mail,
This makes it along with the port etc secure out going mail and should work for
you where ever you are.

HTH.

Hi.

I’ve had this problem since late April, but I haven’t worried about it. I have
an email account that I tried to set up. It can receive messages just fine, but
sending them causes an error. I know what the problem is. It’s the send port. I
can’t remember what it’s called, but I have the correct port on my PC. I just
have to get that onto my phone, and all will be well. Can someone please
enlighten me so I can get this working?

Thanks in advance.

 Hello all,

When I’m in last-pass and say for example, I want to add a new bank-name
in that folder how do I add all that information along with the password
in Jenny’s stuff back slash (other then it’s the back-slash sign and where
is the backslash sign on the phone and computer and not the word), banking
so it doesn’t get placed just anywhere in last-pass? Also, so I don’t
have to do all this information twice, how do I get it on my computer and
phone at the same time? What are the commands I do for this
procedure/process using the computer or phone?

Hope this explanation makes since to you, as I had someone that was doing
all of this prior for me. TIA for your help

RE: linking sirius xm to my echo dot

2020-09-30 Thread Alan Lemly
Shirley,

Outstanding. I hope SiriusXM will continue to cooperate on your Echo device. I
find like most things computer-related, it can be a bit fussy at times. I've
had a number of instances when I've asked my Echo to play a particular channel
number on SiriusXM and it plays something totally different.

RE: Big problem with bookshare search and the new voice dream reader

2020-09-30 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi Mary,

I understand. After I initiate the search, focus is still on the search box but
the on screen keyboard is no longer present. The list of hits are below the
search box and I access them by single finger swiping right once. I guess
Winston must have changed the presentation after a search.

Glad you figured it out.

Hi Alan,
I can t remember if I posted this here or not, since I ve posted my original in
various places. It turns out that what s happening on my iPhone XR is that
while the results are being announced, 11 results, 25 results, whatever, the
search box is still on the screen. So if I dismiss the search box, then I see
the results. I have never had to do that before. Are others having to do that?
Is this a new thing?

Re: Big problem with bookshare search and the new voice dream reader

2020-09-30 Thread Mary Otten
Hi richard,
Well, I had tried flicking, but I guess I had to be in a different place.
Because I did go back into the app and found results after I saw your message.
It’s kind of weird. I think you should be able to find this with explore, or
just get rid of the search box and make it like it used to be maybe. I suppose
there are advantages though, but I think it should be available with the
explore, not having to flipck from the certain right place on the screen.

Re: Big problem with bookshare search and the new voice dream reader

2020-09-30 Thread Richard Turner
Mary, are you getting tricked by the layout? Are you finding just a dismiss
action button or something like t?If you flick right with one finger from the
search box, you should come to the search results, but you have to keep
flicking. For me, at least, they do not show up the way they used to meaning,
you cannot touch midway down the screen and find any results.Does that help?

Re: linking sirius xm to my echo dot

2020-09-30 Thread Robin
Okay, You can either SearchFor: Amazon'sAlexa
SiriusXM Radio skill in YourAmazonAlexa
MobileApp, or You can Try Askin' Amazon'sAlexa
to Play SiriusXM Radio, & MayBe by doing so, this
will Eliminate the Step of Searchin'For the
AlexaSkill of SiriusXM Radio ... Then you should
Be Prompted to SignUp or Log InTo Your SiriusXM
Account with Your SiriusXM UserName & Password, &
then Click ON the Enable button, & Your
AmazonAlexa should Be Able to Stream/Play SiriusXM content.

Hope this Helps

Re: Big problem with bookshare search and the new voice dream reader

2020-09-30 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Alan,
I can’t remember if I posted this here or not, since I’ve posted my original in
various places. It turns out that what’s happening on my iPhone XR is that
while the results are being announced, 11 results, 25 results, whatever, the
search box is still on the screen. So if I dismiss the search box, then I see
the results. I have never had to do that before. Are others having to do that?
Is this a new thing?

RE: linking sirius xm to my echo dot

2020-09-30 Thread Alan Lemly
Shirley,

When you search skills with the Alexa app, type SiriusXM as I just did with no
space between Sirius and XM and with the X and M in uppercase. When I did it
this way, it was the first hit in the search results.

Good luck.

 Okay, Ms. Kitty

To Link YourSiriusXMRadio Account to YourAmazonAlexa i.e., AmazonEcho, You

Go into Your AmazonAlexa MobileApp, & SearchFor the AlexaSkill: SiriusXM Radio,

with YourSiriusXM Radio UserName & Password

You can Ask Amazon'sAlexa to Enable/Open the SiriusXM Radio Skill, & maybe
that will Eliminate the Need to Search Alexa'sSkills for the SiriusXM Radio

Hope this Helps

Also, when Streamin' Music/Content, Users must Say: Alexa, Play ... ON

Subject: Question About Three-Finger-Swipe left/right to Move Between Pages

Hi, Everyone.
My Mom just got a new SE20 yesterday and needs help adjusting to it--she
upgraded her 6S. Her YouTube app is not on her home screen, and I am wondering
if the gesture to move between pages is a standard one that both sighted and
blind users access, or if it's a VO specific one.

Thanks,
Dani

Hi Mary,

I'll add to the others who aren't having his issue with the latest Voice Dream

I hope your device starts cooperating.

strange. Hopefully restarting your phone or closing and reopening the app might
help.

Question About Three-Finger-Swipe left/right to Move Between Pages

2020-09-30 Thread dani pagador
Hi, Everyone.
My Mom just got a new SE20 yesterday and needs help adjusting to
it--she upgraded her 6S. Her YouTube app is not on her home screen,
and I am wondering if the gesture to move between pages is a standard
one that both sighted and blind users access, or if it's a VO specific
one.

Thanks,
Dani

Re: Apple accessibility doesn’t answer questions

2020-09-30 Thread Wayne Merritt
Like others, I think that was Apple's standard reply. I have gotten
that reply each time I emailed them. A few times, I got a more
personal response back later if more information was requested or to
acknowledge an issue I was having. Like others have said, I've had
better success by calling them about specific issues.

Where to Find Saved Videos?

2020-09-30 Thread dani pagador
Hi, Everyone.
My brother sent me a video attached to an iMessage. When I looked at
the More options, there was only the option to delete or forward the
video. I want to airdrop the video to my Mom, so am assuming I'll need
to save it first. Where does the video get saved to on the iPhone? I'm
assuming to Photos, and when I go there it says X photos and Y videos,
but I can't see how to get to the videos. Would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Dani

I have the new version of voice dream on this phone. When I try to do a search

But none of them appear. On my older phone, which I did not update, the search

Okay, Ms. Kitty

To Link YourSiriusXMRadio Account
to YourAmazonAlexa i.e., AmazonEcho, You must
Go into Your AmazonAlexa MobileApp, & SearchFor
the AlexaSkill: SiriusXM Radio, &
then Enable the SiriusXM Radio Skill by
Loggin' IN to YourSiriusXM Account with YourSiriusXM Radio UserName & Password

You can Ask Amazon'sAlexa to Enable/Open
the SiriusXM Radio Skill, & maybe that will
Eliminate the Need to Search Alexa'sSkills for the SiriusXM Radio skill.

Hope this Helps

Also, when Streamin' Music/Content, Users must
Say: Alexa, Play ... ON SiriusXM i.e., Alexa, Play the 49ers ON SiriusXM

I don't have any local bookstores in my area I could support by using
them, but I want the books more then helping the bookstores although
that is a very unique thing that an audio book distributor does and is
very cool. If they were able to have a cheaper price when it came to

RE: Apple accessibility doesn’t answer questions

2020-09-30 Thread Carolyn
They just have a standard, auto-reply, kind of like my sister had, when she
worked for Dell. If she wasn't there to reply to an email, she could put her
email on auto-reply. I don't think Apple's says auto-reply, but it is the
standard message.

However, when I call them, most of the time, I get good response and help, when
possible.

This is Apple's typical standardized answer to everything you send to the
accessibility email address. But sometimes, they really seem to forward
feedback and bugs will be fixed. I guess they will get a whole bunch of
messages from all over the world and can't deal with every email in detail.
Besides, they aren't making decisions by themselves.

Interesting

A question becoming feedback,

I'm not sure how that really works.
Other than a we have no idea and therefore will pass it back to someone else
that has no idea.

I sent a question to Apple accessibility a couple of days ago, inquiring
whether they knew if any of the workouts to be featured in the new Apple
fitness service will be audio described. I got a form letter that said thank
you for your feedback. We have passed it on to the appropriate department. that
tells me they didn’t even read it. I didn’t have feedback. I had a question, a
specific one. So at the very least, the reply should’ve said something about I
don’t know, but we will check into it and get back to you. But passing it along
to the appropriate department? That tells me exactly nothing except that
they’ve actually didn’t read my question. I wonder how common this is for them.

I Figured Out How to Answer Calls on Apple Watch

2020-09-30 Thread Shirley Baker
Someone was asking how to answer calls on their apple watch since updating. I
too tried the magic tap and it didn't work, so I covered to mute, flicked right
and it said answer call and I double tapped with one finger and that worked.
You can also hear who the call is from which in past updates I never was able
to know who the calls were from. Hope this helps whoever was asking this
question.

Libro.fm Re: Does Voice dream Reader now support librivox

2020-09-30 Thread Richard Turner
They have just as many books as chudible, minus the exclusive Audible content.
No, they do not have the option to buy a year or two worth of credits up front
for a discounted price.
But unlike Audible, your local bookstore gets half of the price of the boo.
So, it is a choice, each person who purchases books needs to make for
themselves.
One person's problem, is another person's feature.

The nice thing about Libro.fm is that they are MP3 files, no DRM, so you can

I see, you have to add it as a web source?

I'm better off using the app. see below:

The LibriVox Audio Books app makes it easy to search for free audio books,
as well as classic radio dramas. You can browse by title, author or genre,
look at new recordings, or search by keyword. Because the books are free,
you can listen to as much or as little of a book as you like with no cost.
The app remembers your position, so when you return to a book later, you can
start listening at the place where you left off, and includes a sleep timer
for your convenience.

Richard is correct you do have to go to settings then content sources and
add it in there, but once that is done it should show up in the add options

list.

Okay, Ms. Kitty

To Link YourSiriusXMRadio Account to YourAmazonAlexa i.e., AmazonEcho, You
must
Go into Your AmazonAlexa MobileApp, & SearchFor the AlexaSkill: SiriusXM Radio,
& then Enable the SiriusXM Radio Skill by Loggin' IN to YourSiriusXM Account
with YourSiriusXM Radio UserName & Password

You can Ask Amazon'sAlexa to Enable/Open the SiriusXM Radio Skill, & maybe
that will Eliminate the Need to Search Alexa'sSkills for the SiriusXM Radio
skill.

Hope this Helps

Also, when Streamin' Music/Content, Users must Say: Alexa, Play ... ON
SiriusXM i.e., Alexa, Play the 49ers ON SiriusXM

Hi all. I'm using the Outlook app and was wondering if there was a way to

I don’t think there is.
But, you don’t have the jumping back to the top in the native mail app.
At least, not for me at this point.

RE: Does Voice dream Reader now support librivox

2020-09-30 Thread Richard Turner
You might be better off using the app, but if you want the Voice Dream Reader
controls, it would be worth trying it out.
I plan to try adding libro.fm just to see if it works since I have joined that
instead of audible since Libro.fm gives half of the money to a local bookstore
of your choice.
Their app is fine, but if I could have the books in Voice dream more easily,
great!
The nice thing about Libro.fm is that they are MP3 files, no DRM, so you can
play them in any app.

I see, you have to add it as a web source?

I'm better off using the app. see below:

The LibriVox Audio Books app makes it easy to search for free audio books, as
well as classic radio dramas. You can browse by title, author or genre, look
at new recordings, or search by keyword. Because the books are free, you can
listen to as much or as little of a book as you like with no cost.
The app remembers your position, so when you return to a book later, you can
start listening at the place where you left off, and includes a sleep timer for
your convenience.

Richard is correct you do have to go to settings then content sources and
add it in there, but once that is done it should show up in the add options

AW: Apple accessibility doesn’t answer questions

2020-09-30 Thread Alexandra
This is Apple's typical standardized answer to everything you send to the
accessibility email address. But sometimes, they really seem to forward
feedback and bugs will be fixed. I guess they will get a whole bunch of
messages from all over the world and can't deal with every email in detail.
Besides, they aren't making decisions by themselves.

Interesting

A question becoming feedback,

I'm not sure how that really works.
Other than a we have no idea and therefore will pass it back to someone else

Yes, it is not there by default, but once yu add it, or no doubt other web
sources, they will just be there when you hit add.

Russ, if I go to my add option librivox is one of the choices.
Richard is correct you do have to go to settings then content sources and add
it in there, but once that is done it should show up in the add options list.

I do not find that issue in the Native mail app.
Maybe write to Microsoft about this?

Hi all. I'm using the Outlook app and was wondering if there was a way to
switch the message order from oldest to newest? When I go through my messages
