Go to the rotor and keep turning until you hear it say Activities. Then with
one finger swipe down until you hear No activity selected. You may have
accidentally selected the programming activity which makes VO read all of the
punctuation.

If you are a new Voiceover user or you just forget how to do what you need
Siri may come to the Rescue. I had someone tell me tell Siri to close the
mail app it would give you Voiceover instructions if Voiceover were running.
It did. I then turned off voice over and again said close the mail
All of a sudden I am not getting my text tone to alert me I have new text
messages. I don't have anything set up with Do Not Disturb. Any suggestions.

I am having the same problem. I use short sentences in my messages. When it
cuts off I just send another sentence in another message.
