Catching up on my email, I guess I'll paste my answer to the other thread about

it'll be of some use to you as well.
Regarding the talking scale thing… I guess I’m just snake bit when it comes to

through the sounds to get the sound you prfer. I can't hear Ding all that well

I’m glad that worked. I don’t know what I would do without my tone from Monty
Python and the Holy Grail with the sound of the arrow and the man saying,
“message for you sir.”
If their movies are not your thing, to put that in context, the messenger
receives a message stuck to an arrow which
Thanks Richard! What you told me to do with my message tome worked! Again
thanks so much!

Hi,
OK, I think you have been bitten by the new layered notification settings which
are not my favorite things.
Open settings, notifications, messages, sound, and select your tone again. Or
try a different tone, then come back and set it to your tone again.
That, in theory, should fix it.
You are correct with the tone even though my tone I have is still selected. As
for Siri giving responses I don’t care if it Siri or Voice Over who reads them
but I do want my duck tone back.

To make sure I understand what you are saying.
You had a custom tone for messages, and it is now replaced by the default ding,
right?
As for the Siri and VoiceOver issue, is Siri set to always speak responses?
I’m guessing this is when dictating a message? I have not seen that issue.
Oh man, what would be the best way to turn off screen recognition?

After I upgraded to 16.02 I don't get my message tone but get the ding tone
that comes with text messages. Also I don't get voice over reading the
messages but Siri. How can I fix this? The ding tone isn't loud enough for
me so I don't hear all of my messages come in especially if my phone is
Amazing that one can get Siri to restart phone. Plus, I can see that it wil be
easy to set Power On and Off sound.

Hmm, I'm not seeing that. If I flick back up to the top of the thread then I

Thanks much, Christopher.
I noticed that when I expend a thread, let’s say, of 7 message, flick up and
down to message to message, voiceOver says collapsed on fourth message, for
instance.

According to what I read online it does seem like all iPhone 14 models have
this. This of course means it is not a feature which depends on the latest A16
chip which only the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have. One would wonder also if
this can be done with the A15 chip why this option is not
No, flicking right simply takes you to the next message in your Inbox and if
you are on a thread and flick right and the next message is from an individual
then that is where you go.
You double tap to open the first message and the thread and then use the rotor

If it's an email list then reply will probably go to the entire list, if it's
simply an email thread between a few individuals then reply should go to just
that person and reply all will go to anybody who is included as a second
recipient or listed in the CC field.

Prior to the 16 update, I could ask Siri, each morning, to “play Apple news
“and it would play the daily 8 to 10 minute podcast that I listen to. Since
that time, Siri simply won’t do it. Siri will play other podcast, but not this
one. Anyone else dealing with this issue.

What I find most intuitive and reliable for me is to move through my inbox by

I don’t think I have any sounds for start-up and close-down. Is it something
