I am not sure if there is a shortcut since call forwarding is a feature of
your carrier and not the IPhone. Just entering the *73 plus the call button
seems very quick and easy for me.

Having that on and having a GPS app on are two different things.
How often do you charge the phone? I charge mine every night just to make
sure it is good all day and it is recommended to never let the battery drop
I use my IPhone much more than my sighted friends or family members and
often help them learn how to do things. Most of the blind users I know
depend on the phone for many things.
