If you do that, you delete them from the entire Apple account and all the

AirPods question

2021-11-16 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I realize that syncing across devices with AirPods can be a beautiful thing,
but is there any way to make sure this doesn’t happen. If I want to use the
pods, for example on my Mac mini, I will get a message, or a phone call, or an
alarm will go off on my iPhone, and the connection automatically goes to the
iPhone. I have looked in settings on both phone and computer and I hope I’m
missing something, because I would really like to prevent this from happening.

Thanks

Kristeen

I have discovered that if I go to the website on my Mac, I can use it without
the accessibility issues. They haven’t broken the website yet. I would rather
use the app, however, so I hope they fix it soon.

I am having the same problems others have mentioned here. It’s really hard not
to be able to see what you are writing. I did use it yesterday, but I don’t
like not being able to correct mistakes and knowing I just have to make them. I
don’t use Twitter, so I’m not sure how to contact them. I looked, and basically
there was no way to do this. I too did not see any way for a workaround.

A question about photos

I have all of my photos stored in the pictures folder under my users folder on
my Mac. This way, they are all in the cloud. How can I get my iPhone to look
for photos there, rather than on the phone itself? I am obviously missing
something here, but I can't seem to make it happen.

There is nothing yu have to press on the fryer. When you plug it in, t will
beep. This is the signal that it is ready to receive commands from the app, or

I do have this machine. It has been very accessible. You have to make sure that
your air fryer is plugged in, which I don't mean to assume you do not know.
Then it should show up if you scroll around on the screen. You could also click
on devices and you should be able to see it there as well. If you need more
help, let me know. We could look at your screen together or some thing like
that.

Writing spanish on an external keyboard

2020-11-07 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I am studying Spanish with Dual Lingo. I want to use an external keyboard to
type. I'm starting to type longer sentences, and it's easier than doing it on
the phone. I don't know how to make the accented characters. Can someone please
help me with this? Thanks

Re: iPhones can now tell blind users where and how far away people are

2020-10-31 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
Yes, holding the phone is way difficult. It would have to be a different type
of technology. As for the virus, I was thinking more of hoe people react to our
running into them, than the other way round. People are turning bizarre in a
very big way in the world right now.

Only way this could maybe work is if they had this in glasses, or if there was

Also, You're more likely to get beat up by an american rioter than you are to

These days, it's dangerous to walk into someone, even if they are attractive.
They could give you the virus, or they could be afraid you would give it to
them, and that could be unpleasant. I too would love to have his visor, but we
may have to look at the tech that's out there for the time being. I wonder if

Subject: iPhones can now tell blind users where and how far away people are

Hi! This sounds quite promising! What is everybody’s view on its practical use
for us?

The lidar in the iPhone 12 Pro shows up in this infrared video. Each dot
reports back the precise distance of what it reflects off of.

First, it tells the user whether there are people in view at all. If someone is
there, it will then say how far away the closest person is in feet or meters,
updating regularly as they approach or move further away. The sound corresponds
in stereo to the direction the person is in the camera’s view.

Second, it allows the user to set tones corresponding to certain distances. For
example, if they set the distance at six feet, they’ll hear one tone if a
person is more than six feet away, another if they’re inside that range. After
all, not everyone wants a constant feed of exact distances if all they care
about is staying two paces away.

The third feature, perhaps extra useful for folks who have both visual and
hearing impairments, is a haptic pulse that goes faster as a person gets closer.

Last is a visual feature for people who need a little help discerning the world
around them, an arrow that points to the detected person on the screen.
Blindness is a spectrum, after all, and any number of vision problems could
make a person want a bit of help in that regard.

BPM Connect Blood Pressure Monitor

I was trying to buy the Kardioarm monitor on Amazon. I goofed somehow and got
the BPM Connect, which is by a company called Withings. Has anyone heard of

Re: iOS eBooks

2020-06-21 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I use an online site that is free. I do this a lot and there is another that I
use to convert .epub files to .txt the links are:
https://ebook.online-convert.com/convert-to-epub

https://convertio.co/epub-txt/

These work very well for me. Hope this is helpful.

You are not the only one. I too am a big fan of the scrollbar. I find it

Re: Importing IntoVoice Dream Reader

2020-03-04 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I use a Mac and have iCloud drive enabled. Wne you set up Voicedream to sync
your files through iCloud, a folder is created on your iCloud drive called
Reader. Thius is the Voicedream folder. In it there is a folder called loader.
I cut and paste files or folders in that folder and they are automatically
imported into Voicedream and are on my iPhone. They are placed in sobfolders in
the library folder that is also under the reader folder on iCloud drive.

That's how I do it. Hope this is clear enough. If not, feel free to ask
questions.

Actually, I have 2 TB of space on iCloud. What I was hearing was specifically

You get 5MB of free storage with iCloud.
If you take lots of photos, or videos, or receive lots of text messages with

Check and see what is listed under settings, your name, iCloud.
See what apps are using iCloud.
I believe there is a place there where you can find out which apps are using
how much space.
I don't worry about that because I opted to pay 99¢ per month for the 50GB of
iCloud storage.
And, I don't use photos much.
If you still cannot sort it out, call Apple Accessibility and they can check
what is happening.

Re: iPhone storage problem

2019-12-04 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I do not. I had very little on it, other than a few books. Everything that was
being used was under the "Other" category and I couldn't see what it was.
As it turned out, I updated my phone to the newest IOS, which I had not done.
The storage problem corrected itself.

I also have the H800, I use them mostly for my laptop with the USB dongle and I
find them comfortable, but for such a relatively big set of headsets I wish
they would have put in a bit of a bigger battery. I think they get 6 or 8 hours.

Marie,
Thanks for the instructions.
That will save me some time with trying to scan or find the manual online.
They claim a frequency range of 31 to 15,000 hertz .
That should be fine for most music unless it has orchestra then you will likely
miss out on the high frequencies.

Personally, I'm mostly interested in them for books, Email, etc.
I have really good wired headphones for music listening, so I'm hoping these
will do the trick for me.

These do go over the head and are quite comfortable. The sound is decent but in
my opinion, not the best for music. But you can use the USB dongle for use with
the computer and have it paired via

blue tooth to your iPhone. If you are on the computer and your phone rings, you
just slide the switch from USB to BT. A little heads up, the dongle is inside
the cover on the left earpiece.
Here are some really good instruction I got from Mike B:

Device selection switch, located at the rear of the right ear piece.
When you have the headset on, the device selection switch on the right ear can
be slid to its bottom setting for off, the middle setting for Bluetooth, and
the top setting for RF with the dongle / receiver plugged into the computer.

Volume up, located at 12:00 on the face of the right ear piece.

Volume down, located at 6:00 on the face of the right ear piece.

Microphone mute, located at 9:00 on the face of the right ear piece.
The mute button mutes all sound input to the headset when playing music.
The mute button mutes the boom microphone when on the phone.

Play/pause or Answer call/end call, located at 3:00 on the face of the right
ear piece.

Next track/Fast Forward, located at the bottom of the right ear piece between
the USB port and the power/device selection switch.
Press the button down towards the charging port for, Next Track / Fast Forward.

Previous track/Rewind, located at the bottom of the right ear piece between the
USB port and the power/device selection switch.
Press the button up towards the device selection switch for, Previous Track /
Rewind.

To put into pairing mode:
press the next toggle button on the bottom and the volume up button at the same
time for around 7 seconds. On an I device be in BT setting and you will see the
headset so double tap on it and it should pair easily.
HTH, Marie

Repairing the Voice Dream library

2018-10-19 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
A friend needs to repair her Voice Dream library. The manual talks about doing
it, but it never says how to do it, that we can find. Can someone describe how
this can be done?

Thanks.
